Get paid to care for someone in your own home
We are looking for kind people in the Richmond area to become sponsors. A sponsor opens their home to an adult with a disability and gives them a safe, caring place to live — and gets paid for it.
Now accepting sponsor applications. Applying is free and takes about 3 minutes.
What does a sponsor do?
A sponsor is a person — or a family — who shares their home with an adult who has an intellectual or developmental disability. You give them a room, daily support, and a place in everyday family life.
-
Give them a room of their own
A private bedroom in your home where they can feel safe and settled.
-
Share meals and daily life
Home-cooked meals, rides to appointments, and help with everyday tasks.
-
Be a steady, caring presence
Most of all, you treat the person like family — with patience and respect.
-
Work with our team
We train you, check in often, and are there when you need help. You are never on your own.
Who we are looking for
You do not need to be a nurse or a trained caregiver. You need a good home, a kind heart, and a clean record.
-
You live in the Richmond, Virginia areaYour home is where the care happens, so sponsors live near Richmond.
-
You have a spare bedroomA private room the person can call their own.

-
Your home is safe and steadyA calm, stable home where the person can settle in and feel secure.
-
Experience helps, but is not requiredCNAs, home aides, DSPs, and teachers do great — but we train every sponsor.
